WebIn this talk we show that tachyon annihilation combined with an approximation in which string theory non-commutativity structure is captured by the algebra of differential operators on space-time gives a unified approach to non-Abelian structures on D-branes, all lowest energy excitations on D-branes and all RR couplings in type II string theory. WebThe important feature here is that the energy of a non-interacting tachyon falls faster than the usual 1=arate for massless particles. At some point the energy falls to zero and the tachyons disappear from the universe. This may be interpreted as a tachyon-antitachyon annihilation event [7]. The foregoing analysis only applies to free tachyons.
